DHIAFEE Program
Warm and Welcoming Lodgings in Lebanon
Cultural and Religious Heritage

Lebanon has been the crossroads for western civilizations since man became civilized. Vestiges left by the Phoenicians, Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Ottomans, Crusaders, French and many others offer witness to the strategic importance of Lebanon on the path of history. Ancient monuments and religious sites are spread throughout the country.

Dozens of Roman temples are scattered throughout the mountains. The Beqaa Valley is a treasure trove of temples. If the Crusader era is your interest, fortifications, castles, and churches can be found up and down the coast. Besides the great castles of Tyre, Sidon, Byblos, and Tripoli, there are mosques from the Mamluke period as well as many exquisite churches of the era, often in excellent condition.
